I come from a family of animal lovers, and was brought up in a house that always had pets including cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, chinchillas and fish. One of the earliest lessons i remember being taught from my parents was not to step on ants "because they have families too, and that ant could be another ant's aunt or uncle"! So I now always treat animals as equals. Our family includes 2 gorgeous cats who are both foster fails, and we love them to bits.
