If the Pet Address website also shows that your pet is not registered on any national database and you live in NSW or SA, contact the appropriate State databases to confirm if you are registered with them. If you live in VIC, take your pet to a local vet clinic and have their microchip scanned, verified and registered. In all states (other than VIC) we can offer Online Registration of your pet.

Microchipping is mandatory for dogs and cats in most of Australia, with specific regulations varying by state or territory. In Queensland, for example, it is mandatory to microchip cats and dogs before the age of 12 weeks. Even though microchipping isn't mandatory in the Northern Territory, it's highly recommended. Even the best-behaved pets can escape by accident. A microchip helps strangers return your pet quickly and safely.

Yes, you can. You’ll need to contact both registries and follow a few simple steps.

To ensure security and maintain data integrity, we verify stakeholder identity through a digital process involving Government Issued photo ID. All data is encrypted, activity is logged, and securely stored in compliance with Australian Privacy law. Limited PetCloud are trained staff to uphold data privacy and integrity.

If your identity is successfully verified, the next step is finding out if you are Authorised by your workplace. You’ll be asked to upload proof of employment or affiliation (e.g., your AVA/VSB number, council email, or rescue shelter credentials).

If both Verified and Authorised then you’ll be granted Admin access via a secure login portal. This will allow you to register pets, view your registration history, and search the registry for microchip numbers with limited visibility based on your role.

Pet owners (or authorised Admins) should notify us so we can respectfully update the pet’s status in the registry. This ensures the data remains accurate and prevents confusion in future searches.

A Change of Ownership requires proof of ownership transfer — such as a signed handover form, adoption paperwork, or statutory declaration. Both parties may be contacted to confirm the transfer. We take this process seriously to protect pets and owners.

Owners can log in and self-manage their details online. If a Pet Owner is elderly or has disabilities and is unable to use a smartphone or a computer, then their appointed family representative can request an Ownership update through our online form. After submitting the required documents, our team will process the change securely and promptly.

Clients can use our public-facing signup page. There are two experiences: Full PetCloud Account with access to convenience services OR a Standalone Account where you can only search the registry.

Our Terms and Conditions outline your rights, responsibilities, and protections under our registry service. These are always accessible at petcloud.com.au/terms and are designed to align with government licensing standards and privacy regulations.

If you wish to receive a refund on a microchip registration, please contact us at support@petcloud.com.au.

Our dedicated Registry Support Team is available from 9am to 5pm AEST, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). Support requests outside of hours can be submitted via email or the contact form and are responded to promptly the next business day.

When a puppy or kitten is sold, you as a Breeder need to Request a Transfer of the microchip information to the new Owner's name in the registry. This ensures that the new Owner is properly registered as the animal's Guardian and Owner.
