Meet Wheelie Wilbur, a sausage dog whose disability doesn\u2019t hold him back!<\/h3>\n

Wilbur is a dachshund dog<\/strong><\/a> who has to rely on wheels to get around. At the age of six, Wilbur was diagnosed with with IVDD (intervertebral disc disease)  \u2013 a spinal condition that affects on in four dachshunds \u2013 and lost use of his back legs. So Wilbur has to attend regular hydrotherapy lessons to help build up strength in his little legs.  <\/p>\n

His owner, Petra, entered and won our competition for “Australia\u2019s Hardest Working Pet Parent”.  Wilbur says; I take my therapy sessions very seriously, because I know they\u2019re good for me.  I lost the use of my back legs from stage 5 IVDD but am now able to walk in water, with buoyancy taking the weight off my legs. This is a miracle, and with more therapy maybe one day I\u2019ll be able to walk without the water – paws crossed.  Hydrotherapy helps keep me toned, and the movement is good for my insides too – without it I become stagnant. From a social aspect I get a lot of enjoyment and stimulation from my outings to rehab and I look forward to the cuddles and treats! Thank you for all the love, support and help you\u2019ve given me on my #ivddrecovery journey so far\u201d<\/q><\/em><\/p>\n

Luckily, Wilbur\u2019s loving owner, Petra, is making sure her precious pooch is having a \u2018wheelie\u2019 good and has even added ramps to her Melbourne home.<\/p>\n

Pet Owner Petra hadn’t had a holiday in 5 years and has even had to take separate holidays from her Partner, this is until she found <\/strong>PetCloud Sitter, and Vet Nurse Student, Bronte, from Frankston, Victoria<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n

Bronte pet and housesat for our 3 dogs while we had a rare break. With two special needs dogs it is difficult to get away, and was wonderful to meet Bronte and know they would be in good hands. Her veterinary nurse qualifications and experience provided peace of mind. Bronte is absolutely lovely, very caring, considerate and responsible. Our dogs immediately loved her and had a great time with her. She looked after our house with care and respect and kept us updated with messages and photos. I highly recommend Bronte, especially if you have pets with special needs. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Bronte xX<\/q><\/em><\/p>\n
