It’s time to celebrate man’s best friend on Friday June 21st\u00a0with Take Your Dog to Work Day! <\/strong>We share some of the health benefits and tips for taking your dog to work.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Australian’s\u00a0love our pets with two thirds\u00a0of households owning a pet of some kind! Bring Your Dog to Work Day celebrates the great companions dogs make plus promotes adoptions to dog-less co-workers.\u00a0 \u00a0There are many physical and mental health benefits of having a pet friendly workplace for both the business, employees, owners and pets.<\/p>\n

\"pet-free<\/p>\n

Laughter and positivity creates\u00a0great morale and better communication.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Before taking your dog to work it is important to make sure the health of your colleagues, office visitors and, of course, your furbaby will not be impacted in a negative way.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Clear it with your boss first. Agree on a size & temperament of pets they say are suitable to bring in.<\/li>\n
  2. Be respectful of any co-workers\u2019 pet allergies.<\/li>\n
  3. Sign post and broadcast any pet no-go zones.<\/li>\n
  4. Don’t bring your pet into work if you’ll be busier than usual.<\/li>\n
  5. Only bring in your pet if they’re toilet trained. Clean up any\u00a0accidents immediately.<\/li>\n
  6. Only bring your pet to work if they are well-trained and socialised.<\/li>\n
  7. Keep your pet on a leash or in a gated area with a pet bed.<\/li>\n
  8. Take your pet home if their behaviour is disruptive.<\/li>\n
  9. Bring the essentials on the Vertical Checklist below<\/li>\n
  10. Bring your pet’s favourite blanket, food and travel water bowl,\u00a0dog bed, food\u00a0and treats.<\/li>\n
  11. Place their bed beside your desk<\/li>\n
  12. Try taking your dog for exercise before arriving at the office so they aren’t too excited and are more likely to settle and be calmer<\/li>\n
  13. Don’t forget\u00a0toilet breaks and walks every 2 hours.<\/li>\n
  14. Keep your dog out of the kitchen area<\/li>\n
  15. Reward your dog’s calm behaviour<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
