A brisk walk\u00a0for at least 30 minutes, five times a week, will keep you healthy. Don\u2019t have 30\u00a0minutes to spare? Don\u2019t worry \u2013 three bursts of 10 minutes is just as good.\u00a0\u201cRegular physical activity has been shown to help with sleep, feelings of happiness\u00a0and confidence, and improve strength, balance and coordination,\u201d says\u00a0Shauna Jones,\u00a0National Manager \u2013 Active Living, Heart Foundation. \u201cIf you need more motivation to get walking, why not join a Heart Foundation Walking\u00a0group? Groups are available across Australia and best of all they\u2019re free. Apart from\u00a0the benefits for your heart health, it\u2019s also a great way to make new friends and get\u00a0out into the community. \u201cA whopping 38 percent of us own a dog, and if all dog owners in Australia regularly\u00a0walked them for even 30 minutes a day, the direct healthcare cost savings could be\u00a0as much as $175 million per year,\u201d she said.\u00a0Like walking, it has long been recognised that pet ownership is also good for your\u00a0overall health and wellbeing. So dog owners unite &#8211; put on your walking shoes, put\u00a0paws to the pavement and get walking. Your dog will love it, and so will your heart! <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>WALK THIS WAY TO A HEALTHIER HEART<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>If being more active is one of your New Year resolutions try this:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>1.
