It’s a\u00a0blog about the self-sufficiency pursuits of an Iowa couple living on a homestead in the city. First, gather the following ingredients:\n

2 c. whole wheat flour<\/a><\/p>\n

1 c. peanut butter<\/a><\/p>\n

1 T. baking powder<\/a><\/p>\n

1 c. milk 1\/2 c. ground flax meal<\/a> or ground corn meal<\/a> (optional – but I use it.)<\/em><\/p>\nYes, that’s it. Next, mix the peanut butter and milk in a large bowl until smooth. Add everything else into that same large bowl, mix well, and pop it in the fridge for about 20 minutes or so, which will allow the dough to be workable. After about 20 minutes, grab a hunk of the dough and plop it onto a lightly floured surface. \"Homemade\n\nYou’ll want to grab a rolling pin<\/a> and a pizza cutter<\/a>, and preheat your oven to 180 degrees C\n\n\"Homemade\n\nWhile your oven is preheating, roll out the dough.\n\n\"Home\n\nThen grab your pizza cutter and cut squares of whatever size you’d like. I cut mine pretty small, since I have a tendency to give out lots of treats \ud83d\ude42\n\n\"Homemade\n\nArrange the dough on a greased <\/em>cookie sheet<\/a> and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown and crunchy.\n\n\"IMG_3409\"\n\nMake sure the treats are slightly crunchy! I mean, your dogs aren’t going to care one way or another, but if you fill up your treat jar<\/a>, you’re going to want crunchy treats.\n

Let those treats cool, and throw ’em in a freezer baggie. Leave out enough that your dog will eat throughout the week, and put the rest in the freezer so they stay fresh.<\/div>\n
