Brisbane’s Best Dog-Friendly Activities

If you’re looking for some of the best dog-friendly venues and activities to do with your dog on the weekend, here is some of the best we've found!

Go on a Dog Friendly Walk

Mt Coot-tha Walk, and JC Slaughter Falls at Mt Coot-tha is dog friendly and frequented by fellow dog owners (Go from 6am in the morning while the day is cool) keep your eyes peeled for Aboriginal Art work on rocks.

Seven Hills Reserve is also busy from 6am with Pet Owners and their dogs.   The River Loop from Kangaroo Point Cliffs, down the stairs, then from Kangaroo Point to Southbank, over the Good Will bridge, then through the Botanical Gardens, up Ivory Street's short Steep Hill, then over the Story Bridge to Bar Spritz overlooking the city for a water and a cool down. There are dog water bowls there too.

Brunch with your Dog

Then jump in the car and head to Gordon Park near Montrose Street (across from Kedron Brook Bike Track) known as "Keddy Brook" to the locals which is an off-leash dog park with a creek running through it so your pup can enjoy a fun swim. Have a picnic with your dog

Round up your friends and BYO dog to enjoy a picnic in New Farm Park. You will need to keep your dog tethered/ on a lead out in the open park at all times though.

See a movie with your dog

You can bring your dog to Yatala Drive-Ins

Yatala Drive-Ins is a favourite.  Brisbane Open Air Cinemas annually put some movies on when the weather is good and is located at Rainforest Green, South Bank Parklands, opposite the city and near the Wheel of Brisbane.

Southbank Collective Markets are Dog Friendly. Open Friday nights, Saturdays, and Saturday nights and Sundays.

Stroll through Southbank with your dog and visit the night markets.  Just steer clear of places with food and swimming areas where dogs aren't allowed.

Kayak with your Dog

Make sure your doggo is wearing a life vest. Take your kayak and enter at the Colmslie Boat Ramp. (Wouldn't recommend letting them swim in the water there, it's been said bull sharks like that spot).

Sometimes Riverlife at Kangaroo Point have dog-friendly kayak hire events too if you don't own a kayak.

Explore Kedron Brook Off Leash Dog Park, Gordon Park

Start your morning in Windsor with the boys at Alcove Cafe with coffees and breakfast.

They even gave us bacon for Milly!

Then jump in the car and head to Gordon Park near Montrose Street (across from Kedron Brook Bike Track) known as "Keddy Brook" to the locals which is an off-leash dog park with a creek running through it so your pup can enjoy a fun swim. The Kedron Brook Bike Track on the other side of the brook stretches over 10kms from Nundah to Mitchelton.

This doggo was having a swim in the brook when we arrived, with his owners watching close by

Have Fish and Chips with your Dog at Howard Smith Wharves (Felon's Brewery)
